Royal Trains, Palaces and Temples - By train across Western India

The Jain Temple -- an architectural delight.
The Royal Orient Express, a train that runs through Rajasthan and Gujarat, is one of the world’s great rail journeys. The train mainly travels in the evenings, and during the day we stopped for some sensational sightseeing experiences. One of these was a trip, carried up a mountain in a sedan-chair rig by four Indian porters, to visit the holiest shrines of the Jain religion. Fortunately, we were there on a holy day and so the temples were filled with happy worshipers and strewn with flowers. Article describes the experience from a personal point of view.

Worshipers at the Jain Temple -- friendly and welcoming.
