With the trauma of September 11 slowly healing, New York has become, once again, one of the world's great cities. It is cleaner, safer and friendlier. People have actually been seen to smile on the streets. You are not jostled on the sidewalk, as pavements are called here. Drivers of the ubiquitous yellow cabs don't belittle your few dollars tip as they used to, and they seem to know their way around much better than before. Times square, once a place to avoid, especially at night, is again crowded and safe.
Whatever your needs or desires you can fulfil them in this vibrant, bustling and challenging city. |
