The city of San Jose - razed by earthquakes, yet with its own special charm.
Costa Rica was the original ‘Banana Republic’ – its beginnings firmly linked with the United Fruit Company who imported Costa Rican bananas into the United States. But today Intel produces computer chips to a higher value than the whole country’s entire fruit crop. A high standard of health and education is due to the fact that Costa Rica is the only country in the world without an army, navy or airforce. We went to explore its capital – and loved the experience.
