| Most people think of the Arabian Peninsula as a place to stay away from, either because they hate excessive heat, or they're not comfortable with the concept of Islamic Fundamentalism. The first objection is justified between the months of April and October, when temperatures reach the high 40's C. But between November and March the weather is moderate -- between the 20's and 30's C range and most people would feel quite comfortable. The second objection may be justified in some parts of this area, but certainly not in Dubai and the Emirates. Here one finds enlightened rule, freedom of speech and worship, and a fascinating mix of locals that are greatly outnumbered by guest workers from Europe, Asia and the Indian sub-continent.
