Re-educating orphan Orang Outans in Borneo |
A baby Orang Outan in Malaysia. |
| We flew to Borneo to look at what the Malaysians were doing to save the Orang Outan. They have a rehabilitation centre that re-educates young orang outans that have been taken from their mothers and reared with humans. Orang outans need flve years of survival training which their mother usually gives them in their natural habitat, before they can fend for themselves. Before these orphans are released into the wild, the warders teach them survival techniques that they had never had the chance to learn from their mothers. |
