Mornington Peninsula Wineries - Tough Times Ahead


The Mornington Peninsula is Victoria’s newest wine area and has some real potential. But it also has some real problems. High land prices mean that wineries are often too small to be viable, producing deflated wines at inflated prices, and having to import a large proportion of their grapes from other Victorian and interstate wines areas. But it is not all bad news. There are some excellent and innovative wines to be found here, and the wine tourist will also be able to eat very well during his wine tastings.
