Hotels with a Difference |
| Individualists complain that many luxury hotels are too bland. So this article takes the reader to hotels with a difference. They range from one in Tibet that, because of altitude, pipes oxygen to the bedside, one in the Australian outback that is the quintessential Australian pub in the ‘back of beyond’, one in New Zealand that has vault-doors to some of its bedrooms because it was an old bank before its metamorphoses, and one, on the shores of Italy’s Lake Garda, that was, during WWII, the headquarters of the Nazi General in charge of German forces in Italy on one floor and the quarters of Mussolini’s mistress on another. If only walls could talk! |
