Chiang Mai - Treasures of the Golden Triangle |
Traditional coppersmiths produce beautiful work by methods handed down for centuries. |
|
Chiang Mai, in Thailand’s Golden Triangle, is much more traditional and much less modern than Bangkok. Here you will find wonderful temples, and whole villages that specialise in a particular traditional handicraft – Thai-silk weaving, furniture making, silversmithing, parasol making, woodcarving, pottery making, and much, much more.
Just out of town you will also find what is arguably Thailand’s finest resort – The Regent of Chiang Mai – where America’s first lady, Hilary Clinton, holidayed with her daughter. The article describes what we discovered when we visited there. |
