Chiang Mai - Treasures of the Golden Triangle

Traditional coppersmiths produce beautiful work by methods handed down for centuries.
Chiang Mai, in Thailand’s Golden Triangle, is much more traditional and much less modern than Bangkok. Here you will find wonderful temples, and whole villages that specialise in a particular traditional handicraft – Thai-silk weaving, furniture making, silversmithing, parasol making, woodcarving, pottery making, and much, much more.

Just out of town you will also find what is arguably Thailand’s finest resort – The Regent of Chiang Mai – where America’s first lady, Hilary Clinton, holidayed with her daughter. The article describes what we discovered when we visited there.
