Athletes, tourists and sports-fans will converge on the city where this all began over 2000 years ago, and which hosted the first modern Olympics in 1896. Unlike the second Olympic Games in Paris where, in 1900, there were more athletes than spectators attending, Athens is expecting a flood of visitors unprecedented in this city's history.
